A yay into the vehicle with Ranger and tracker into the 6.30 three degree cold, complete with blankets and hot water bottles. It is light by then and we begin our morning safari. What fun scanning the sides for animals, and when sighted stopping to observe. STRICT RULES....no standing up and certainly no leaving the vehicle.
Bush breakfast at 9am with fabulous buffet set on the dry river bed....warm towels to clean hands and anything hot or cold to eat.

Lunch is at 1pm and then afternoon safari at 3.30 after tea!!!
The whole experience has been breathtaking
Scotch for example worked for 6years clearing roads and then MEMORISED all the birds and animals in a definitive Africa guide and can tell what page every animal is on!!!!!! When I asked him what he earned he said well it used to be impala droppings, now it is more like buffalo droppings, but he is aspiring to Rhino!!!!
The rangers work 6 weeks on and two off...living in a village nearby and then going home when off. Fabulous stories here.
Dinner is a three course affair, again outside with roaring fires surrounding us - and more hot water bottles, host by the rangers, and served by Civilised, Happiness, Pretty, and Harry the barman.
Great bush stories are told of close encounters with Lion, Black Mamba etc.
We are then escorted by the ranger with gun to our tents.....sleep is sweet!
